Chicago Marathon

Here's the picture of the week... Congratulations to everyone who finished the marathon. I've run two Chicago marathons, so I know how much hard work and training goes into it. But it is worth it in the end. The feeling of crossing the finish line is pretty amazing!

Happy Halloween

What better way to celebrate Halloween then to carve a pumpkin! Earlier today Carolyn and I created the following pumpkin. If you can't tell, those are supposed to be three bats flying around the pumpkin.

What did I do last Friday night?

I got to hang out with 200+ women. But there's a catch... It was actually for a Jr. League event that I photographed. Here's a description of the event.

This year the Junior League of Chicago will transform the River East Art Center into a cozy and unique boutique shopping experience, featuring 40+ exceptional vendors from across the country. Through the generosity of Gazebo vendors, a gift will be made with each purchase at this event to the mission and community projects supported by the Junior League of Chicago which strive to develop the potential of women and to improve the community by empowering women and families at risk. We invite you to come out for an amazing shopping experience -- this may be the greatest gift you give this holiday season!

Here's a slideshow of the event. I big thank you goes out to Alison Hunt for letting me shoot the event. Thanks Alison. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

Steve.

It's live!

As promised, here's the new site. Take a look when you have a second. A big thank you goes out to Aundrea who helped troubleshoot some last minute issues.

New website coming

So you probably remember me mentioning a website re-launch about 2 weeks ago. It's still on track to happen but the really good news is I've actually upgraded my site with the help of BluDomain. They've help me build a site that utilizes more flash than the original one I built. The new site looks so good... I can't wait to launch it. As soon as the site is live, I'll post a picture of it on the blog.

Image of the Week

Here's the image of the week. I took it at a wedding two weeks ago and shot it with a 14mm wide angle lense. I thought the lense did a good job at capturing the large space of the venue (which was really cool by the way). I also like this picture because it draws the user in to focus on what was going on. Enjoy!

Congratulations Ashley and Paul

Here's my most recent wedding which was in Chicago. Congratulations go out to Ashley and Paul who were very fun to work with. It was a fast paced day filled with a lot of action. It rained a little bit after the ceremony, so I had to do some of the group shots inside. The band was great and I got a bunch of pictures of them with some interesting angles. This slideshow is layed out like a wedding album, so keep that in mind as you look at the pictures. Enjoy!

We're Going to Africa!

I'm very excited because Carolyn and I have officially decided to go to Africa for our honeymoon. We're going to be spending a week on safari in Southeast Africa and then another week at Mauritius, which is an island off the southeast coast. We haven't booked our safari arrangements yet, so if you have any recommendations that would be great. Luckily we didn't have to pay airfare since my airlines miles covered everything. Naturally, I'm excited about all the pictures I'll get to take (don't worry Carolyn...I'll pencil in some quality time with you also.... ha ha...) . My 80 gig portable storage drive will come in very handy since I will not have my laptop to download pictures. I did go to Africa when I was child, and from what I remember, it was very cool! I went to Kenya for about a week as well as the Seychelles which is another island of the southeast coast. I can't wait to go!!!
